Sidewalks of New York

I borrowed the title from an Ed Burns movie, but it’s fitting since I’ll be hitting the streets of New York this week, checking out the O’Reilly Web 2.0 Expo. I’m interested in some of the keynotes including Fred Wilson of Union Square Ventures (investor in Twitter and Tumblr). But the primary reason I’m here this week is to head to the IBM T.J. Watson Research lab north of Manhattan for a ‘lab tour’. It’s a scouting mission to learn about the projects underway in our research community to determine if there are suitable candidates to showcase through alphaWorks. Should be some interesting technologies and concepts that come out of it. Stay tuned.
